Context

In the fall of 2018, a group of trans folks at Positive Images noticed some common themes in our struggles: that across a diversity of identities, many of us have been impacted by similar social messaging.

In respons we made this list of reminders for ourselves, which some lovely folks helped to illustrate.

Contributors

RJ is the glorious militant blacktivist behind the "colonial norms" and "not a distraction" pages. Look at their art and consider giving them money here.

Hayden Stern does multimodal work exploring the non-normative body. Hayden created the "shouldn't have to fit in boxes" page. Look at their art and consider giving them money here

AJ is a North Carolina-based illustrator who drew the "you are worthwhile" page. They make good soap which you can buy at Ms. Andry’s Bath House.

Cecelia Sullivan did the “you are not too much” page and her website can be found here!

Melissa Andrade did the poster page which you can find on the back of the zine! She is one of the magical beings behind the Santa Rosa Zine Fest and we love her and her babies.

One last thing

We had talked about doing a bigger version of the reminders zine as a fundraiser for Positive Images but that hasn’t happened yet, both due to lack of interest and lack of ca-pa-ci-ty. Maybe we’ll get to it soon, though (they said 7 years and several lives later).
